Since the incorporation of the program Hoteles más verdes (greener hotels), 19% of energy consumption and 3% of waste have been reduced.

In the long run, the program has brought about economic benefits. On one hand, the amount of public service bills became lower; on the other hand, sales have increased since many tourists nowadays choose sustainable tourism as their travel option. Benefits also come through the reduction of their purchases since, by tourists reusing jars and clothes, among others, our monthly acquisition of those items has decreased.

REDUCTION OF ENERGY EXPENDITURE

The hotel has successfully reduced its electrical consumption by replacing halogen lights with LED lights and implementing photocells for automatic on/off switching. Additionally, in the rooms, lighting is activated with a magnetic card, reducing usage to when guests are present.

WATER CONSUMPTION REDUCTION

Flow meters have been installed to monitor and control water consumption, along with an automated sprinkler irrigation system programmed to optimize water usage during the night and morning, preventing waste and inconvenience to guests.

NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCE OPTIMIZATION

The frequency of guest transfers to the city center has been reduced, offering the service during peak demand hours to lessen environmental impact.

SUSTAINABLE SUPPLIERS – SUSTAINABLE BEST PRACTICES

Suppliers provide ecological and locally sourced products, while the spa utilizes vegan and environmentally friendly products. The company responsible for irrigation collects organic waste for composting.

PRINTING REDUCTION

Information is provided through QR codes in common areas and rooms, eliminating the distribution of physical maps and encouraging digital reading to reduce paper usage.

We began rising awareness of the environmental impact we can cause through recording water and energy consumption. Currently, records of waste have been added to start considering plans for reducing consumption and waste in the future.
